AGCO is seeking a Test & Certification Engineering Intern to join our team based in Fargo, North Dakota . This is a full-time internship during the summer of 2025. As a Test Engineering Intern, you will be a member of teams supporting the development of electronic components, sensors, and systems used by industries worldwide. Here you will be given hardware and/or software tasks developing and performing product tests for a variety of AGCO products. If you don't want to be limited to only hardware or software engineering this position is for you, as knowledge of both are beneficial to this role.

The primary responsibility for this position is to assist test engineers in developing and validating telematic control units, sensors, and more including mechanical components, electro-mechanical components, and electronics. The test engineer intern who fills this position will develop strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using equipment that may include but are not limited to the following test equipment: digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, electronic load boxes, and EMC chambers. This position could also require use of equipment to support structural, thermal, humidity, fluids and vibration test requirements. Support with test fixture design and fabrication requiring light machining or additive manufacturing methods may also be required.

Your Impact

  • Support engineering staff with failure investigations to resolve system performance issues encountered during testing and field use.

  • Set up and maintain data acquisition systems in house and, when required, at 3rd party testing facilities.

  • Support test engineers in the interpretation/analysis of customer test requirements and subsequent cost estimates to support an appropriate test program.

  • Participation on Product Development teams, review drawings and concepts.

  • Support test engineers to identify, execute, and document all testing required for development and certification of new and revised products to customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Support test engineers with development of test procedures based on requirements document for electromechanical, mechanical, and electrical systems.

  • Design and acquisition of test fixtures.

  • Support test engineers with creation of proposals for new business opportunities by identifying and estimating testing related tasks.

  • Support test engineers with the assurance of compliance with local, state and federal regulatory and safety requirements for procedures and test equipment.

  • Support test engineers with their purchase recommendations on latest testing and data acquisition technology.

  • Act as or support the test focal for one or more specific projects, estimating, designing, scheduling, and implementation of new test systems and/or equipment.

  • Developing and documenting standard work and methods, maintain skills, and grow skills.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability or desire to create software programs.

  • Knowledge of Python, Labview, TestStand, IDEC SmartRelay.

  • Ability to read electronic schematics.

  • Previous experience using tools and equipment in a hands on lab environment including mills, saws, grinders, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
