Farmingdale State College Assistant to Senior Associate Director - LIEOC in Farmingdale, New York

The Assistant to the Senior Associate Director will be responsible for assisting the Senior Associate Director in all day-to-day matters of academic and support services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in scheduling faculty assignments.

  • Answering and directing phone calls.

  • Organizing and scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.

  • Producing and distributing correspondence.

  • Maintaining the daily calendar.

  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and the creation of presentation materials.

  • Developing and maintaining a filing system.

  • Managing textbook and eBook inventory and distribution.

  • Tracking curricula and curricula submissions.

  • Creating and tracking of faculty appointment notices.

  • Taking accurate minutes of meetings.

  • Maintaining computer and manual filing systems.

  • Entry of data in records management systems.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Administrative writing and proofreading skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A high level of professionalism.

  • The ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • The ability to utilize discretion and judgment and to handle sensitive material in a confidential manner.

  • The willingness to work as part of a team.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential information.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • The ability to work independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven administrative experience.

  • Prior experience in adult or higher education.

    Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Wednesday, December 13, 2023 and ending Wednesday, December 27, 2023, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled

  • Salary: $55,000 + $3,087 in downstate location pay = $58,087 Total Annual Compensation.
