Program Manager

Role Overview :

The Program Manager (PM) will lead multi-location, cross-functional teams to deliver new products and designs from concept through production and field deployment. The PM is responsible for the execution of program deliverables and will manage requirements, schedule, quality, and cost, working with sales & marketing, supply chain, technical teams and field operations. Individuals are expected to understand and communicate the complexities of development activities, risk management, and escalations within complex, development programs. PMs operate within the Otis structured stage-gate and/or agile product development frameworks.

On a typical day you will:

  • Lead technically-complex, cross-functional, global teams to meet new design & development program objectives

  • Manage program stakeholders, schedule, scope, cost, risk, interdependencies and resources

  • Drive project execution through the full lifecycle of the program through development, production launch and field deployment

  • Coordinate product roadmaps, requirements, and priorities from cross-functional partners including engineering, product management, sales and marketing, and field personnel

  • Lead project reviews, gate reviews and other team/executive communications

  • Plan, track, and communicate all program details such as goals, tradeoffs, schedule, cost and milestones

  • Facilitate team meetings, providing leadership and direction focusing on deliverables, goals, actions and timelines

  • Support initiatives within the program management team to increase efficiencies, processes and tools

What You Will Need to be Successful :

  • Degree in Engineering or related field

  • 5 years of engineering project/program management experience

  • Experience with hands-on leadership of complex product development programs through stage gates, from concept through deployment

  • Experience managing multi-functional, global, distributed teams, multi-disciplinary and cross-organizational stakeholders

  • Experience managing competing priorities and the ability to determine and resolve complex system tradeoffs

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Teams, Project, Word, Excel)

  • Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative, team environment

  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing both hardware and software product development projects

  • Familiarity with Planview or similar program portfolio management tools

  • Agile development framework knowledge and experience

  • Proficiency with Agile tools (Atlassian toolchain or MS Azure DevOps)

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
