ZF Active Safety and Electronics US LLC Engineer III - Electronics (Electronics Development) in Farmington Hills, Michigan

Job Duties: Responsible for ensuring that large scale integrated circuits such as micros, ASICs, memory devices, and imagers for use in Electronics Stability Control, Passive Safety, Electric Power Steering, and ADAS systems (including Radar, Camera, and Autonomous Driving) are developed according to the ISO26262 specification; Define system safety architectures with focus on microcontrollers, memory, and ASICs; Develop component level functional safety requirements for semiconductors used in active and passive systems; Develop safety work plans and ensure timely completion of deliverables from suppliers; Develop and negotiate Development Interface Agreements (DIA) with suppliers; Analyze the component Failure Modes, Effect, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) from the supplier and ensure it meets the product safety requirements; Ensure the supplier safety manual for components are complete and then document the safety requirements contained for the application system designers; Ensure verification of micros, memory, and ASICs against safety requirements; Present and defend ZF safety concept and process to customers and auditors; Apply best practices across product lines; and Implement and maintain a world-class global functional safety process for semiconductor components. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in engineering (or related) occupations in the functional safety field, and demonstrated experience with: ISO 26262, Rev 2 specification, including Parts 5 and 11; Failure Mode Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA); HW Fault Metrics; Fault Tree Analysis; Functional and Technical Safety Concept development; Understanding of hardware safety requirements development; Dependent Failure Analysis; Hazard Analysis (HARA); Safety analysis tools (for example, ANSYS Medini); Project Management tools (for example, Windchill); Version control systems; Semiconductors and electronics; and Requirements analysis and management.
