DESCRIPTION: Coordinate people, product, & process activities of the engineering design members at the business unit/customer group level on small scale development programs.
Coordinate small scale projects with automotive OEM customers. Plan, record, and follow up technical activities in conjunction with lead Systems, Software, Hardware, Test Validation engineers assigned to projects. Ensure team accomplishes stated project or functional goals and objectives. Ensure team compliance with appropriate customer requirements and processes. Coordinate project activities in conjunction with other departments and locations (e.g. Validation, Manufacturing, Purchasing). Follow Program Launch System (PLS) and develop design based on Design for Manufacturability and OEM specific documentation. Respond and support to quality and work issues and takes corrective action as appropriate (SCR, Warranty, Delivery Quality). Plan, record, and follow up open action items to ensure successful completion. Review with the team to assure compliance to all specifications and standards. Coordinate Change Request Authorizations and Engineering Change Orders. Create and maintain Project Books containing Design Reviews (DR0, DR1, DR2), design outputs, minutes, etc. Plan and follow project from Request for Quote process through factory transfer and production launch as outlined in Product Development Process procedure. Communicate with team and management regarding development activities, project schedule, cost, issues, and risks. Interpret, enforce and comply with Company policies, procedures, and regulations. Initiate, recommend and provide solutions through designated channels. Prepare reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree discipline and three (3) years of related experience
