Summary of Job Duties:
Reporting directly to the Vice Provost for Distance Education, the
Assistant to the Vice Provost for Distance Education is responsible for
managing the Office of the Vice Provost for Distance Education. This
management entails ensuring administrative operations run efficiently,
maintaining and refining internal processes, coordinating resources,
managing administrative data, implementing effective communications, and
serving as a collaborator and connector to internal and external
partners. Duties include, but are not limited to, managing and
optimizing the Vice Provosts schedule; using initiative and strategic
thinking to anticipate needs and prioritize emergent issues; assisting
with the implementation of daily tasks; following up on action plans;
and assisting with drafting communications. The Assistant to the Vice
Provost also helps plan and coordinate events; assists with projects and
initiatives; and forges close, collegial working relationships both
internally and externally to Global Campus.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job
duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious
working relationships with others. This position is not eligible for
remote work. This position is housed in the Global Campus office on the
downtown Fayetteville Square.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least five years of administrative, professional, or business
management support experience
At least one year of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Master\'s degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited
institution of higher education
More than one year of experience working and supporting the
operations of a fast-paced, complex academic unit at a higher
education institution
More than one year as an executive assistant to a high-level
executive
Experience with executive scheduling, including travel
Experience with event planning
Experience preparing written communications
Experience with University of Arkansas at Fayetteville systems,
policies, and procedures
Experience supervising staff
Knowledge of protocol and meticulous attention to detail when
managing sensitive topics with members of academia, business, and
government
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Excellent organizational, listening, interpersonal, communication,
time-management, and project-management skills
Excellent written and verbal skills, with a high level of diplomacy and
attention to detail
Superb customer service, trustworthiness, confidentiality, work ethic
and discretion
Highly collaborative and works for the success of the team.
Ability to keep and maintain confidentiality in managing documents and
information
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and Workday
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain high-quality work,
and meet critical deadlines
Ability to plan and coordinate activities, resources, and materials
Ability to meet project deadlines in a timely manner and seek other
pathways as necessary to achieve success
Ability to be punctual and dependable
