Job Description Summary

GE Vernova Power Conversion is a leading provider of cutting-edge marine and industrial automation solutions. We specialize in designing and implementing advanced control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), motors while utilizing industrial grade network switches, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and workstations for a wide range of marine and industrial applications. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a talented and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team and ensure the safety and security of our critical infrastructure systems.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at GE Vernova Power Conversion, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our marine and industrial applications against cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect our PLCs, switches, HMIs, workstations, and other critical systems from potential cyberattacks.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Security Assessments: Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and potential threats in our marine and general industrial systems.

  • Security Implementation: Implement effective security measures and controls for PLCs, VFD’s, switches, HMIs, and workstations, in compliance with industry standards and best practices for the implementation of proper cybersecurity practices and on project execution.

  • Network Security: Configure and maintain network security solutions to protect against unauthorized access, intrusion, and data breaches.

  • Security Policies: Enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines for the safe operation of marine and industrial applications.

  • Incident Response: Establish incident response plans and protocols to promptly address and mitigate cybersecurity incidents.

  • Training and Awareness: Conduct cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees and end-users to promote a security-conscious culture.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, such as NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, and maritime cybersecurity guidelines.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incident reports, and risk assessments.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and sales, to integrate cybersecurity measures seamlessly into our marine and industrial applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on industrial control systems (ICS) or maritime systems.

  • In-depth practical knowledge of IEC62443 standards

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master's Degree

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) .

  • Knowledge of PLCs, network switches, HMIs, and programming workstations used in marine and industrial environments.

  • Familiarity with industrial network protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, Raw Ethernet, TCP/UDP, EGD, and Ethernet/IP.

  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to cybersecurity incidents.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various departments within the organization.

  • Understanding of maritime and industrial regulations and cybersecurity standards.

The salary range for this position is 85,600.00 - 114,100.00 - 142,600.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
