Job Description
The College of Engineering, Informatics and Applied Science (CEIAS) is
seeking to fill a full time, benefit eligible Financial Oversight
Analyst, Intermediate position. This position will support the efforts
of the School of Informatics, Computing and Cyber Systems (SICCS).
The position will involve a variety of financial tasks and require
liaisoning with NAU\'s Service Teams, Office of Sponsored Projects, and
other departments within NAU. Weekly tasks will depend on the demands of
various grant funded projects as well as academic financial needs. This
role will also help to keep the college\'s operations in compliance with
budgetary goals and expectations.
Financial Processing, Reconciliation Analysis and Budgeting - 35%
- Understands and applies knowledge of appropriate handling of budget
information and expenditures.
- Collaborates with Financial Oversight Manager on budget management,
billing, reconciliations, payroll funding changes and other
financial processes.
- Grant management of federal, state, and private funded projects,
prepares proposal budgets, ensures expenses comply to uniform
guidance and NAU policies.
- Assist with training on entering service tickets and may enter in
service tickets when needed.
- Tracks Service Tickets though NAU\'s Service Now including purchase
requests, travel requests, sub award payments and reimbursements.
Data Reporting and Auditing - 35%
- Compiles data and prepares basic summaries to be used for plans,
forecasts, and budgets.
- Creates and/or maintains tracking spreadsheet for various financial
tasks including preparation of monthly project summaries.
- Reviews grant invoices for accuracy, obtains approvals, and resolves
issues.
College Finance Liaison - 25%
- Liaison with NAU\'s Service Teams, Department Faculty, and outside
departments within the university regarding financial insight and
guidance.
Other - 5%
- Other duties as assigned for example, managing service centers,
indirect costs, and foundation accounts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, or
related field.
- 2-4 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be
substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year
basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education, grant finance/accounting or
nonprofit finance/accounting.
- Skill and knowledge of NAU\'s Peoplesoft and Enterprise Financial
Systems.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of financial oversight and operations tools,
procedures, processes, policies, and concepts, such as payroll
management systems and budget analysis projects, as well as such as
expense tracking, and trend analysis.
- Knowledge of financial reporting in higher education and university
budgeting practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Skill in financial modeling.
