Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and managing engineering / technology projects. Interfaces with internal/external customers to ensure organization resource allocation is made. Accountable to deliver the scope of work to the original cost estimate. Manages schedule, budget and integration of NPI and/or requisition projects, including influencing the projects to meet customer CTQs and hit tollgate milestones. Project is often a component of a program.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5 years of engineering or related experience

  • · Experience in managing project teams and/or mentoring junior engineers

  • · Experience in leading product design & development efforts

  • · Knowledge of design methods, verification, and validation

  • · Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • · The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, etc. forms and move projects to completion

  • · The ability to work with and without direct supervision

  • · Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills

  • · Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment

  • · Team player, customer advocate, and innovative problem solver

  • · Experience project managing products involving hardware and firmware.

  • · Experience with networking and telecommunications equipment.

  • · Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.

  • · Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.

  • · Experience with Wireless and/or Optical Communication technology

  • · Familiarity with Agile Product Development a huge plus

  • · Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • · Strong business and analytical ability

  • · Familiarity of bug tracking management tools (i.e. JIRA)

  • · Able to take initiative to improve processes

  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
