ENTRUST Solutions Group Substation Senior Design Engineer - Civil/Structural in Fort Collins, Colorado

*REMOTE POSITION WITH TRAVEL REQUIRED*

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for Civil and Structural Engineering related tasks as assigned, with minimal to moderate guidance, in support of Electrical Substation design.

  • Perform structural steel, structure anchorage, and concrete foundation design. Generate structural steel and concrete details.

  • Develop structural analysis models and design steel structures and equipment support foundations. Also utilize in-house developed design tools to assist in analysis post-processing and creating construction drawing information.

  • Capable of performing general Civil/Structural Engineering analysis and design, AutoCAD drafting and other assigned duties.

  • Assist in the preparation of calculation reports and packages, steel fabrication shop drawing review, and construction submittal review.

  • Involved in executing structural steel and concrete analysis, design, and detailing, for transmission and distribution electrical substations with voltage classes up to and including 345kV.

  • Review and produce civil/structural design drawings including Site Plan, Grading and Drainage Plan and Details, Foundation Plan and Details, and Oil Containment Plan and Details.

  • Work towards developing a self-directed autonomous level of responsibility while under the direction and supervision of a registered Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.

  • Professional Engineer licensure or EIT certification with plans to obtain PE license within 2 years.

  • 2-4+ years of civil/structural substation design engineering experience, preferably at an engineering consulting firm (can be evaluated at higher level based on experience)

  • Experience with RISA 3D, L-Pile, Civil 3D, EnerCALC, and AutoCAD are preferred.

  • Familiarity with standard building codes including IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and AWS (Experience with ASCE 113, NESC, or IEEE standards a plus).

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% when needed within the continental U.S.
