Army Installation Management Command Recreation Assistant (Water Safety Instructor) NF-02 in Fort Detrick, Maryland

Summary This position is located at Fort Detrick Community Recreation Division (Indoor/Outdoor pools), Maryland. Responsibilities Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills. Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Teach students from age groups of infants through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Work experience related to the duties described above (Manage swim lessons; develop swim program; introduce and instruct safety and survival skills) AND Possession of the following certificates: 2. Water Safety Instructor Certification 3. Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) 4. First Aid Certification (Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable) These certificates must be reflected on your resume and can be uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits however, there is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligation and work scheduling requirements).
