[[Definition:[ Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled carpentry work and technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Skill and experience level are greater than that of Carpenter I.
[[Supervision:[ Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory staff.
[[Duties - may include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Any duties listed for Carpenter I.
- Perform finish carpentry from beginning to end including new construction, maintenance and repair.
- Perform stain-grade trim work.
- Hang doors; machine doors and install door hardware.
- Construct and install window frames and door frames.
- Use optical and laser leveling equipment.
- Layout stairs and common rafters.
- Follow oral instructions.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
[[Qualifications:
[[Knowledge of:[ principles, procedures and terminology used in the construction trade; tools and materials used in carpentry; methods and procedures used in building construction; materials and equipment used in carpentry trades; occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
[[Ability to:[ be accurate in all phases of work; organize assigned tasks; read blueprints; utilize appropriate math and analytical skills; correctly use and apply a variety of carpentry skills; understand and follow oral and written instructions; maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities (see Physical Conditions below); maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception for making observations, communicating with others, reading and writing, and operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
[[Education, Experience, Training, Licenses, and Certificates:
[[ Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
[[Education:[ Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Must be good with adding and subtracting fractions.
[[Experience:[ Minimum of three years related experience.
[[License:[ Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
