Army Installation Management Command Recreation Aid (Trainee-Lifeguard) NF-01 in Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia

Summary This position is located at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA within the Community Recreation Division - Battle Drive Pool. Responsibilities Note: This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided. Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations). Mandatory certifications must be complete within 30 calendar days of employment. Upon completion of mandatory certifications, the incumbent will be noncompetitively reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206, responsible for lifeguarding guest in attendance at an assigned aquatic facility. Lifeguarding/First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA..); American Red Cross "CPR for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid. For facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration or installation offered training (i.e. Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications. Education Additional Information Other: If hired for this position, DFMWR will be paying for the lifeguard certification. This is a standing register; applicants will be sent to the hiring manager on a weekly basis as needed. Additional referral lists may be issued at management's request.
