Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The role is based in the field of Business and Commercial Litigation with a focus on Aviation Law. As a Legal Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and play a key role in the management of customer relations and communication.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the process of e-filing and managing documents digitally
• Handle phone operations and reception duties
• Engage in light typing tasks, preparing legal documents and exhibits using Microsoft Office Suites and Adobe Acrobat
• Oversee calendar management, scheduling appointments, and setting up depositions
• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications
• Maintain customer credit records with utmost accuracy
• Manage complex business litigation processes
• Prepare files for hearings, ensuring all necessary documents are available and organized
• Assist in the management of bank accounts by making copies of checks and deposits
• Contribute to client relations through effective communication and detail oriented conduct. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
• Proficient in Calendar Management, ensuring all appointments and deadlines are accurately scheduled and met
• Demonstrated ability in maintaining Client Relations, ensuring all needs and inquiries are addressed professionally and promptly
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear and effective interactions with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
• Experience in handling Commercial Litigation and Complex Business Litigation processes
• Familiarity with e-File and e-Filing systems, ensuring all documents are digitally filed and organized systematically
• Expertise in Calendaring, managing all scheduling aspects within the legal office
• Ability to Schedule Appointments and Depositions efficiently, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared
• Experience in handling Exhibits, ensuring they are properly organized and prepared for court proceedings
• Proficient in Phone Operations, handling all incoming and outgoing calls professionally
• Fast and accurate Typing skills, ensuring all documents are prepared promptly
• Experience in Document Scanning, ensuring all documents are digitally archived and easily retrievable
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience in using Adobe Acrobat for PDF management and editing.
