We are looking for a skilled Port Engineer to join our logistics team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If you have experience with cargo vessels and engineering experience at sea, we would love to speak with you! Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all technical aspects of assigned Cargo vessels to maximize operational availability and readiness.

  • Planning and organization of maintenance, remedial, and modification work on individual vessels to ensure the safe/working conditions of hull, equipment, and machinery.

  • Monitoring planned, preventive, and repair maintenance activities by the crew through a computerized planned maintenance system – NS Enterprise.

  • Planning, scheduling, and supervising all Class and flag state periodical inspections and surveys as required to maintain class and regulatory documentation.

  • Management of vessel dry dockings, including spec preparation, bid evaluation, representing owners during dry docking, and invoice settlement with contractors.

  • Develop and present safety and vessel performance improvement projects to Technical Manager by analyzing lessons learned from incidents, vessel performance evaluations, feedback from vessel personnel.

  • Responsible for the overall management of repair and maintenance for assigned vessels,including routine voyage repairs, regulatory surveys, dry docking shipyard events, emergencies,casualties, and modifications. Promotes a professional relationship with the officers and crew.

  • Set clear goals and expectations and coach and develop Master Chief Engineers in line with Competence and Performance Management objectives. Participate in interviews and make recommendations regarding new hires and promotions.

  • Perform other duties as directed by Manager.
