TEKsystems - Cloud Service Operations Specialist

As a Cloud Service

Operations Specialist, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Cloud Service Operations Specialist joining our team to enable and support customers in cloud-based environments. Successful candidates are familiar with cloud technologies and principles, able to rapidly troubleshoot Tier-1/2 support issues, and are always customer serving.

Relevant Certification

Required Experience:

2+ years with cloud technologies and principles.

Required Technical

Skills:

  • General knowledge of cloud-native principles and DevOps concepts

  • General IT Service Management concepts, practices, and procedure familiarity

  • Troubleshooting identity and permission management issues

  • Troubleshooting cloud-based deployments issues; rapidly triage and escalate as necessary.

  • Troubleshooting basic application and server issues

  • Service ticket generation and communication follow through.

  • Thorough and accurate triage and escalation of incidents

  • Cloud system monitoring and alerting

  • Customer interaction via chat, in-person, and over the phone

  • Basic trend analysis

  • Documenting resolutions and contributing to internal knowledgebase

Security Clearance

Level: TS/SCI

Required Skills and

Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of identity managers and brokers

  • General familiarity with Agile methodologies

  • Good written and technical briefing skills – can effectively communicate with teammates and leadership.

  • Active DOD Clearance

  • 8570 Compliant/IAT II Certification (CompTIA Security+)

Key skills that will help:

  • AWS Practitioner Material

  • EC2 Instances (experience deploying them)

  • S3 Bucket Policies - what are their purpose?

  • Familiarity with LinuxOS/Basic Linux Command Lines (Commands for moving/finding files, etc)

  • Understand CI/CD Pipelines (What they are, benefits, what they do, what are some tools/examples, etc.)

  • Knowledge/familiarity with Gitlab (what it is/what is does)

  • Knowledge on containerization (Kubernetes – What does it do, used for, benefits, etc.)

  • Some form of Scripting (Python preferred)

  • Customer Service/Culture – Someone who is “Patriotic”/Passionate about the mission

  • Cultural fit (Looking for somebody that is eager to learn, passionate about tools/technology, somebody who takes initiative/doesn’t just sit/wait around for direction)

  • Other Tools/Technologies used in the environment:

  • Terraform

  • Ansible

  • Kubernetes

  • GitLab

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly changing workplace

  • 2+ years' experience working for an Enterprise Service Provider

Other relevant

technical certifications

  • 1+ year of relevant coding knowledge
