POSITION LOCATION: Fort Morgan, CO

PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:
A U.S. Department of Education Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions
(DHSI) - Title V grant funds this position (Award #: P031S190160).
The Pro Mentor will support the missions of the Title V program and Admissions
and Advising by serving as a knowledgeable guide to students at Morgan
Community College. The Pro Mentor identifies students who need in-depth
assistance in navigating higher education or accessing resources and connects
these students with appropriate resources. Through one-on-one interactions and
group meetings, the Pro Mentor serves as a support and success advocate for
students. The Pro Mentor will help oversee the student peer mentors and
assigned students. This position will work closely with MCC students and the
East African community in relaying information about Summer Bridge and other
Title V programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in English and Somali or Swahili
High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrated experience leading groups
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A demonstrated commitment to MCC's core values of integrity, respect,
collaboration and communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution
Prior experience as an MCC student
Knowledge and experience of the MCC campus, Title V, and student life
Anticipated Start Date: April 2022
Salary: $19.80 per hour
