Robert Half International Tier II Service Desk Technician in FORT WAYNE, Indiana

Description

A client of ours in Fort Wayne, IN is currently seeking to fill an immediate need for a Tier II Service Desk Technician on a permanent basis. The Tier II Service Desk Technician will support end users with hardware/software issues through phone calls and tickets, and specifically help with more network driven issues with routers/switches/firewalls. The Tier II Service Desk Tecnician will work Monday-Friday 8-5PM and be part of an on-call rotation 1 week every 4-6 weeks. This job is working remotely today, but will require someone to support clients onsite in the Fort Wayne, IN area for upgrade/deployments/migrations so being local or in the state of Indiana is needed.

What you do as the Tier II Service Desk Technician:

  • Reply and follow up on technical help tickets submitted via phone and email

  • Independently investigate and implement solutions to technical issues

  • Identify recurring technical issues and propose solutions to address the root of the problems

  • Offer IT support for operating systems, productivity software, and a variety of other applications used internally

  • Troubleshoot network specific issues with router, switch, firewall hardware and connectivity issues

  • Go onsite for client projects to deploy new hardware, upgrade to new software, ect.

    Requirements

What you bring to the role:

  • 3+ years of prior experience in an IT support role

  • IT support ticketing system experience desired

  • Demonstrated knowledge of user administration and bug fixing in a client server environment

  • Background in installing and configuring operating systems, networked and local printers, and business applications

  • Foundational knowledge in Active Directory and Group Policy

  • Windows OS experience desired

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

  • Proven knowledge of TCP/IP Networking

  • Experience with Cisco hardware products

  • Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
