The Medical Assistant float is to assist the designated provider and
perform administrative and clinical duties as directed by the provider.
Essential Job Functions including, but not limited to: - Place patients
into exam room and perform patient intake. Reviewing medical history,
taking vitals and documenting into medical chart for provider to
review. - Chart prep 1-day before each patient\'s scheduled appt. -
Properly document ALL encounters with patients - Administer
self-injection drugs for patients as directed by provider. - Answer all
phone calls in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. - Perform
prior authorization for requested imaging and misc. drugs at the request
of provider. - Preform Mass Pat on controlled substance drugs - Stock,
clean, and maintain provider exam rooms. - Properly dispose of full bins
and get ready for pick up by hazardous waste company. - Properly handle
providers in and out bin to obtain proper signatures DAILY. -
Participate in any training provided by the office manager or drug
reps. - Participate in medical office emergency routine when required. -
Maintain confidentiality of patients, providers and all staff members
and perform all duties under HIPAA regulations. - Verify all patient
info in ECW is correct and complete accurate documentation - Educate
patients on proper referral procedures.? - Provide a positive
environment to all patients, families, providers, all office staff,
referral sources, drug reps, service agencies, and others.? - Adhere to
all department/facility policies.? - Properly document ALL encounter
with patients and forward encounters to proper staff in timely
manner.? - Other duties may apply. Required Education: - High School
Diploma - CPR and First Aid Certified Skill, Licensure and Knowledge
Requirements: - Ability to work well and communicate with others
verbally and in writing. - Basic computer skills. - Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment, under pressure, and react effectively to
emergency situations. - Ability to use discretion while working with
sensitive information. - Follow HIPAA regulations - 1-2 years of
experience in a medical assistant role. - Certified or registered
medical assistant - Knowledge of electronic medical record. Physical
