We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Operations and Development to lead a critical function within our IT organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, optimizing resource allocation, and spearheading strategic development initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth functioning of IT operations, manage costs effectively, and foster a modern, agile IT environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of IT operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, system availability, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT budget, forecasting resource needs, managing expenditures, and maximizing cost-efficiency, while considering the needs of agile development teams.

  • Oversee vendor management, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships with key technology providers to secure the best possible solutions and pricing.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process optimization, streamlining workflows, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency. This includes fostering a culture of experimentation and adaptation, aligned with agile principles.

  • Manage global resourcing, ensuring optimal allocation of personnel, expertise, and budget across the entire IT organization, with a focus on building high-performing, cross-functional teams.

  • Play a key role in disaster recovery planning and execution, safeguarding critical data and systems in the event of disruptions, while maintaining the agility of IT operations.

  • Collaborate closely with the CIO and other senior leaders to translate business objectives into actionable IT strategies, ensuring alignment with agile delivery cycles.

  • Foster a high-performing and results-oriented IT team, motivating and developing talent to achieve peak performance. This includes promoting a culture of continuous learning and encouraging the adoption of agile practices.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, continuously seeking new avenues to improve operational effectiveness and drive innovation, particularly in the realm of DevOps practices.

  • Provide regular reports on IT performance metrics, resource utilization, budget adherence, and the effectiveness of key initiatives to senior management.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, implementing best practices for data protection and cybersecurity.

  • Facilitate effective communication channels within the IT department and across other business units, ensuring that IT alignment and collaboration are optimized to support business goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in managing complex global IT operations, encompassing infrastructure, data center operations, and end-user support services.

  • Strong understanding of IT budgeting and cost management, including forecasting, resource allocation, and expenditure control.

  • In-depth knowledge of vendor management principles, with experience in establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships.

  • Proficiency in IT project management methodologies, able to oversee large-scale projects from inception to completion.

  • Solid expertise in IT security principles, capable of designing and implementing comprehensive security strategies and disaster recovery plans.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and performance.

  • Comprehensive understanding of service level agreements (SLAs) and their application in managing IT service delivery.

  • Expertise in agile methodologies and DevOps practices, with a proven track record of implementing these approaches to enhance IT operations.

  • Advanced skills in negotiating with vendors to achieve favorable contract terms and cost savings, particularly for agile and DevOps-related services.

  • Superior analytical skills, capable of conducting complex data analysis to inform strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
