Aerotek's client is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to join our team in Frederick, MD.
This role involves supporting one of our premium customers by ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing hazardous waste, conducting safety inspections, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and the client's Health and Safety practices.
Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creating all federal and state waste documents and managing the paperwork for the material.
Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites, including loading and unloading waste from vehicles.
Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
Occasionally perform and document Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits for clients.
Deliver exceptional customer service by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to our clients.
Develop a high level of state and federal regulatory expertise to ensure compliance with RCRA, DOT, and OSHA requirements.
Conduct spill response measures, including the assessment and cleanup of spills.
Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team.
Essential Skills
Experience with Hazwoper, decontamination, and hazardous waste handling.
Forklift operation skills.
Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40-hour certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior relevant industry experience.
Successful experience in a customer service role.
Ability to communicate effectively in a blue-collar environment.
Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
