Decisive Point Consulting Group, LLC NETWORK ENGINEER (GAIT) in Frederick, Maryland

DPCG has a need for network engineers that will serve on a Network Team to perform daily tasks at the Global Agile Integrated Transport (GAIT) Network Support Center (NSC).

Essential Functions:

The GAIT NSC Network Team is based out of the Fort Detrick, Maryland (Fredrick, Maryland) area. This Team staffs on a Panama Schedule and is responsible for mission planning, engineering, implementation, cyber security and troubleshooting as required to support users requiring GAIT services.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of, or be able to demonstrate the ability to learn, the following tasks:

  • Load Router and Switch configurations, or edit configurations

  • Configure Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

  • Configure Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)

  • Configure Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN)

  • Configure Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and L3VPN

  • Knowledge of Multicast and Policy Based Routing

  • Knowledge of VMWare and navigating virtual environment

  • Knowledge of NETOPS tools such as SNMPc, SolarWinds Orion, Radius or similar reporting and authentication resources

    Required Experience:

    Candidates should meet the following requirements in order to be considered for this position;

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) code in lieu of the degree.

  • All candidates should have a basic understanding of tactical satellite (TACSAT) equipment and understand its relationship to the greater network architecture.

  • Knowledge of the PM Tactical Network (formerly PM WIN-T) architecture along with emerging technologies is required.

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance

Candidates that possess the following experience will be highly preferred:

  • IA, configuring and deploying Cisco and Palo Alto IPS and firewalls

  • Encryption devices (KG's or TACLANE's)

  • Knowledge of the PM Tactical Network (formerly PM WIN-T) architecture
