The Medtronic Corporate Tax Department is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Federal Income Tax Team. This position involves preparation of Medtronic’s U.S. corporate income tax filings as well as tax research, tax accounting, and collaborating with other finance professionals throughout Medtronic.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Team with other professionals in the preparation of Medtronic’s federal income tax returns which includes preparation or review of calculations, forms, and disclosures
Gather information and prepare calculations including FAS123R, FDII, UNICAP, BEAT, 163(j), or the R&D Credit
Perform key calculations during quarterly and year-end ASC 740 process
Prepare projections of estimated income tax liabilities as required for quarterly estimated income tax payments
Assist with federal income tax audits by responding to requests made by the taxing authorities
Work with other tax professionals to identify and resolve tax questions, including performing tax research and analysis
Develop systems and procedures that lead to process improvements utilizing Alteryx and Power Query as applicable
Assist in maintaining Corptax for entity management, trial balance import, custom groups, and best practices. Partner with State and US
International compliance teams as well as Tax Technology team for latest updates and system mappings
Act as the staff liaison between the Federal and State Compliance Teams ensuring that deliverables and technology updates are resolved timely
Work on special projects, with varying levels of involvement and responsibilities
Manage projects as assigned by leadership
Assist with other tax projects
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 4+ years of income tax experience (or 2+ years with an advanced degree)
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Public accounting and/or large multinational corporate income tax experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Strong computer skills, specifically with MS Excel and tax software
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and complete work within established deadlines
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with CorpTax, OneSource Tax Provision, SAP, Hyperion, and MS Power Automate/Power Apps
Ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization and establish strong relationships with other individuals and teams
Ability and desire to drive process improvements
Ability to grow by assuming an increased level of responsibility
Desire to grow into a leadership position
Strong analytical skills related to tax and operating situations

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
