Located 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, Omni PGA Frisco Resort is the largest resort currently in development in the country. Opening spring 2023, the resort will feature 500 guest rooms and suites, 10 four-bedroom ranch houses, three pools, including an adults-only rooftop infinity pool, a destination spa, Lounge by Top Golf, and over 127,000-square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. An expansive retail and entertainment district will feature dining, shopping and an outdoor stage set to be activated for concerts and outdoor programming. The Resort will become a leading destination for golf providing an unparalleled experience for those who are advanced players, new to the game, and everything in between. The resort will offer 46 holes of golf designed by Beau Welling and Gil Hanse, including two 18-hole championship golf courses, a lighted 10-hole short course, and a lighted two-acre putting green.

Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco Resortis seeking an experienced and creativeLine Cook 1 | Trick Riderto join our team. Omni Frisco PGA Resort will provide north Texas with 127,000 square feet of event space, 13 new food and beverage outlets, an extravagant spa and a full entertainment district. Featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a third short course, we will provide incredible options for our guests and local community for dining, events, and entertainment.

Trick Rideris a new age supper club serving luxury, curated food and tricked up cocktails, wines, and distilled spirits. It is experiential with swagger. A Frisco eatery like no other, featuring top shelf fin, shellfish and a stable of premium cut meats. Sit ringside at the chef’s table or at the horseshoe bar. A performance playing homage to traditions with a modern twist.

The Line Cook 1 ensures all prep items are prepared and stored according to hotel specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepares all food items as directed by supervisor and to the company specifications.

  • Ability to work on an outlet hot/cold line executing menu items in the specified timeline for each meal period.

  • The ability to identify and inspect all food products for quality.

  • Follow all storage procedures when taking food out of walk-in and when returning food to walk-in.

  • Safely and properly use all culinary equipment.

  • Must have a solid and demonstrated understanding of cooking skills and techniques.

  • Keep walk-in, prep area and equipment up to Health Department and EcoSure standards at all times.

  • Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Proper use and care of cooking utensils and equipment, pots, pans, dishware, silverware, glassware, food slicing machine, knives, salad spinner

  • Proper care and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.

  • Oven, grill/stove burners, microwave appliances, robot coupe, mechanical choppers

  • 3 years of culinary experience preferred; well-versed in operation of at least one culinary station

  • Knowledge of basic kitchen preparation, knife skills, sanitation, and safety

  • Ability to remain active, including standing for 8+ hour per day

  • Flexible scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be familiar weights and measures in order to follow and multiply standard recipes.

  • Must have basic mathematical skills.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced high pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks and assignments.

  • Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.

  • Must have unexpired Food Handlers – or obtain upon hire.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight.

  • Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending and twisting.

  • Must be able to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and taste/smell .
