Trinity Health Unit Secretary, Clinical Support - Per Diem Emergency Department in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Description:

Position Summary: Provide support to the unit one scheduled nightshift (7 pm to 7:30 am) a week, and weekends as needed.

What You Will Do:

  • Initiate and receive communications from Nursing Unit Director or designated Charge Nurse and Nursing Unit staff verbally, via telephone, mail, pneumatic tube, and computer system.

  • Communicate effectively with patients or their families to meet the needs of the population served.

  • Assemble new charts, record specified clinical information, file reports, imprint forms in clinical record, check discharge chart for completion by nurse responsible, maintains patient records.

  • Operates computer for transcribing diagnostic orders and other computer transactions as resented.

  • Maintains pertinent hospital data and records.

  • Orders and maintains supplies for the nursing unit.

  • Actively participates in all Codes and drills as scheduled.

  • Performs other job-related duties within job scope as requested by supervisor.

What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • A Certificate of satisfactory completion of a formal Unit Secretary program or previous Unit Secretary experience in a hospital is required.

  • Good customer-service and communication skills.
