PA Route 6 Alliance Project Manager (Full-Time) in Galeton, Pennsylvania

About the Organization:

The PA Route 6 Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2003 to manage the 11-county PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor through implementation of the Strategic Management Action Plan, branding and marketing plans, community development programs, and other planning efforts.

The Alliance includes representatives from eleven counties, nine convention and visitor bureaus, four Heritage Areas, and many local development districts, Chambers of Commerce, businesses, and organizations throughout the corridor region and greater state of Pennsylvania. Under the leadership of the PA Route 6 Alliance, these citizens join together to preserve, enhance, and promote the historic highway and treasured resources that contribute to their shared sense of place. Using the corridor's Strategic Management Action Plan as a guide, they initiate heritage tourism development strategies to promote more sustainable local economies and enhance the quality of life in every community along US Route 6 in Pennsylvania and the surrounding PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor Region.

Mission --- US Route 6 in Pennsylvania, which passes through the 11 counties of Crawford, Erie, Warren, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Bradford, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike, is the focus of an effort to preserve, enhance, and promote the transportation heritage of one of the nation's first transcontinental highways, the rural communities linked by the highway, and the natural scenic beauty of one of America's favorite road trips.

Requirements:

Degree in communications, marketing, business management, planning or five years experience in project management, public relations or marketing are preferred.

Physical Demands --- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle in variable conditions (including day and night, all seasons and weather, and rural and urban terrain) to travel throughout the 11-county PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor and occasionally throughout the rest of Pennsylvania and into neighboring states to meet with groups and/or individuals at their place of work or established meeting location. Some bending, lifting/carrying of moderately heavy/bulky objects, walking moderate distances, and climbing stairs may be necessary.

Work Environment --- Work is primarily in an office setting. Flexibility required due to varying times and locations of meetings as well as travel with overnight stays.  A valid driver's license and active auto insurance policy are required. Must be willing to work well independently as well as part of a team. Must be able to clearly communicate with the public and effectively respond to questions, in both individual and group meeting situations.

Roles and Responsibilities:  (Including, but not limited to...)

Program Management

  • Manage projects as defined by the PA Route 6 Management Action Plan, DCNR directives and Executive Director.
  • Coordinate meetings of the Heritage Communities Committee and other related committees including timely creation and distribution of agendas, minutes, and reports.
  • Meet with Heritage Community Representatives annually to review community progress, needs, and feedback, and compile findings in an annual report(s).
  • Serve as liaison between the Heritage Communities Committee, Board of Directors, and other committees to communicate community needs and aid in future programming.
  • Manage the planning and execution of both virtual and in-person educational programs, workshops, and special events for Community Representatives and regional stakeholders.
  • Monitor, track, and report metrics in relation to programming and target market(s).

Administrative

  • Serve as the primary phone/email contact for the organization while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor, accurate documentation, and timely follow-through.
  • Communicate with Executive Director to establish and maintain effective and efficient office management systems and processes.
  • Manage volunteers and/or intern staff.
  • Maintain and build upon the organization's contacts and contact groups. 
  • Coordinate meetings of the Board of Directors and other related committees including timely creation and distribution of agendas, minutes, and reports.

Marketing

  • Coordinate meetings of the Tourism Promotion Advisory Council (TPAC) and other related committees including timely creation and distribution of agendas, minutes, and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Marketing Committee Chairperson on the development of public relations and marketing plans.
  • Maintain an established schedule of writing, designing, and distributing informative and engaging e-newsletters.
  • Maintain positive press relations through well-written press releases and their timely release according to an established schedule.
  • Maintain and update the website(s), communicating with tourism partners to ensure accuracy of member information and event listings.
  • Monitor and maintain the organization's social media presence with a focus on growing audience and reach.
  • Monitor, track, and report insights and analytics in relation to target market(s) and marketing efforts.
  • Coordinate and execute cooperative advertising campaigns and promotions.
  • Manage the fulfillment of digital and print brochures/guides as well as the tracking and reporting of inventory and distribution.
  • Aid the graphic designer in creation of digital assets and print publications.
  • Design flyers, posters, and other digital and print assets as needed.
