Examples of Duties
The duties listed below are not all the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered essential for an employee to perform.
- First point of contact for the Work Groups HR paperwork, including but not limited to benefits, personnel actions, salary placements, position changes and reclassifications, employee hotline complaints.
- Meets regularly with the Work Groups leadership team as well as appropriate HR leadership.
- Provides support and consultation with workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the Work Group and HR to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge of the field through professional development as identified by the assigned Work Group and/or HR.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- Three years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent role(s)
QUALIFICATION EQUIVALENCY:
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience developing strategic and creative recruitment and workforce plans
- Experience developing and implementing change management strategies
- Experience in a Local Government HR setting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong command of employee engagement and recruiting
- Solutions focused and comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
- Ability to use data to develop strategies
- Keen understanding of employment and labor laws and HR best practices
- Highly collaborative and thrive on building and sustaining positive work relationships
- Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion
- Strong verbal communication and writing skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Substantial experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to successfully navigate various computer systems, specifically HRIS
Additional Information
Minimally qualified applicants will start at 25% of the salary range: $31.93/hr.
The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
