Introduction

Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe Limited (BCASEL) is an EASA and UK CAA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on 737 NG/Max, 777 and 787 aircraft.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for B1 and B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineers to join our organisation. Prospective candidates are required to hold a valid UK CAA Category B1 or B2 Part-66 Licence with one or more of the following type ratings - B737 NG, B737 Max, B777 or B787. Applications from candidates without Boeing specific types will also be considered and additional type training can be provided.

The B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer will have responsibility for the supervision of Mechanics and inspection and certification of scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, structural repairs and functional tests on Airframe, Engine and Electrical systems. They will support the Aircraft Check Manager and allocate tasks to ensure the daily workload is completed and the production plan remains on schedule.

The B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer will have responsibility for the supervision of Mechanics and inspection and certification of scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs and functional tests on Avionic and Electrical systems. They will support the Aircraft Check Manager and allocate tasks to ensure the daily workload is completed and the production plan remains on schedule.

These roles report to the Maintenance Manager - Production and are based at the London Gatwick Hangar facility working a rotational shift pattern. A degree of flexibility is expected and shift patterns will vary as required in order to support business needs and operational requirements.

B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Mechanics performing Base Maintenance on customer aircraft.

  • Inspection and certification of scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, structural repairs and functional tests on Airframe, Engine and Electrical systems.

  • Complete all assigned work in a timely manner to optimise aircraft downtime.

  • Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, job cards, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales.

  • Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures.

  • Promote a just culture and report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System.

  • Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the Aircraft Check Manager.

  • Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.

  • Assist the management team in the day to day running of the London Gatwick Operation.

  • Undertake any reasonable activities as required, including working away from London Gatwick.

B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Hold a valid UK CAA Category B1 or B2 Part-66 Licence.

  • Type rating on one or more of the following aircraft preferable - B737 NG, B737 Max, B777 or B787.

Desired Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year exercising certification privileges with experience working in a Line or Base Maintenance environment.

  • Demonstrate 6 months recent experience on type and ability to hold and maintain appropriate company authorisations specific to role.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Part-145 regulations.

  • Previous experience of using AMOS or other Maintenance Management Systems.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Effective problem solver with a solution focused mindset.

  • Flexible worker who is prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands.

  • Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.

  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in house systems.

  • Meet the requirements to hold a London Gatwick Airport airside pass.

  • Candidates must have the right to live and work in United Kingdom.

Work Authorisation

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the United Kingdom. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
