Description
Our industrial services client in Geismar is seeking a Controller. This role will entail full cycle accounting, including supervising a small team, facilitating audits, and managing both month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee full cycle accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Supervise a team of 3 staff, providing guidance and support as needed
• Facilitate audits, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage month-end close activities, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded
• Perform account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Handle accounts receivable, including invoicing and payment collection
• Manage accounts payable, ensuring all payments are made in a timely manner
• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP solutions to streamline processes
• Participate in budget processes, assisting with forecasting and planning activities.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of a Controller or similar position
• Strong knowledge and experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Ability to handle various accounting functions
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures
• Experience in auditing and budget processes
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
