Description Job Title: Office Manager - Eye Care - GeneseoDepartment: OphthalmologyLocation: Eye Care - GeneseoHours per Week: 40Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-4:30pmSUMMARYIndividuals assigned to this job direct, coordinate and supervise the operations/activities of a team or group assigned to provide clerical, administrative or staff support to a department, section or service unit within the hospital. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, directing, training, monitoring, mentoring, planning and appraising the work of, and recommending HR actions and pay decisions for, those assigned to perform this work, as well as to ensure day-to-day accountability for the unit's cost, staffing, work flow and tracking of performance. Participates with other peers, staff and higher management in department staffing, planning and budgetary processes and works to ensure the meeting of unit, and departmental operating goals. May perform other duties as assigned. Radiology: Provides analytic and leadership support for multiple hospital systems and outpatient ancillary services for charge capture and charge reconciliation, denials, coding, and work queue management.RESPONSIBILITIESManages and supervises the day-to-day operations/activities of a clerical/administrative support group or unit within a department, section or assigned unit.Orients, trains and mentors those supervised on office operations and equipment utilization, and all related work processes, systems, practices, policies, procedures and regulations pertinent to the job; oversees and ensures that all work is completed in accordance with such.Tracks and manages group performance and keeps department management regularly apprised of work status, progress against unit/department performance initiatives, and of any issues, or highly sensitive, critical or unusual situations or events that may occur. May manage various departmental database, business tracking or reporting systems; oversees completion of scheduled or special analyses or reports that aid management in the conduct of business matters.Regularly contributes in all or many of the department planning, forecasting and budgetary processes, including, but not limited to: cost, quality, personnel staffing or training, patient services, safety, security, training, maintenance and supplies, and methods for delivery against overall operations, workflow and department performance goals.Participates in the employment interview and hiring process; counsels regarding training and improvement; evaluates employees, participates in the performance review process, and recommends HR actions, including pay decisions and/or other changes that affect employment status for direct reports.Ensures that the work area is properly supplied, maintained and kept free of any safety concerns or sanitation issues.Suggests ways and may coordinate implementation of changes to improve customer satisfaction and unit, and/or department operations and/or services.May interact and work collaboratively with staff, management or other personnel in different departments or service units, including purchasing, IS Support, facilities management, supplies, and environmental safety, and with patients, customers, and/or other external contacts, such as contractors, providers, suppliers or vendors in the conduct of department business.Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS2 years previous experience in office/business operations environment required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAAS in Business preferred.Experienced in an office / business leadership role preferred.Proficient with office equipment, software programs including, but not limited to: reporting systems, database management, spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software; Paradox software experience may be required.Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal communication, organization and people skills with demonstrated ability to lead or direct people.A combination of education and experience may be considered.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE: $60,500.00 - $65,000.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
