Dell Advisor, Field Marketing in George Town, Malaysia

This role is at the intersection of business and data analytics. The Advisor is expected to serve as a business partner to the INTL (APJ, GC, EMEA, LATAM) Server BU and a data steward who generates and validates business performance data.

They are expected to formulate incisive hypotheses that dig deeper into the business from multiple angles (financial, buyer base, programs etc.) and independently develop data driven tests needed to validate hypotheses and generate next course of action options. By extracting, analyzing, and interpreting the appropriate data, they are expected to provide data-drive recommendations to drive the business efficiency and effectiveness.

To succeed at this role requires strong business acumen coupled with the ability to work hands-on with data and communicate insights to senior executives through appropriate data visualization and presentations.

Key Deliverables:

  • Analyzes business data, providing assessments of trends, identifying and explaining variances from goals

  • Proactively analyzes trends, causes and variances to drive business

  • Develops data visualization to identify patterns, goal attainment, variances etc.

  • Extraction & combination of data from multiple databases / sources; Develops database logic to extract required information for reporting and analysis

  • Designs, develops, and implements business intelligence dashboards and reports to facilitate data review and analysis

  • Creates and distributes both routine and complex ad-hoc reports

  • Elicits and documents business requirements to produce meaningful insights and metrics, identifying trends and insights that improve business performance

Core Responsibilities:

  • Designs, drives and implements reporting to support the business

  • Consults with business to identify new reports or data needs to support business decisions. Determines future reporting requirements and strategic needs aligned to organization/ corporate strategy

  • Formulates conclusions and provides summary analysis and interpretation for leadership

  • Simplifies and standardizes reports at regular intervals. Continuously monitors, identifies and implements the best practices, new tools and methods.

  • Defines and determines metrics definitions from a global perspective. Works with governing bodies to ensure metrics definitions are consistent globally.

Education and Experience / Skills:

  • Strong data analysis aptitude underpinned by business acumen, self-learning ability

  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL

  • Data visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau experience will be a plus

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Knowledge of ISG a plus but not mandatory
