Job Summary and Qualifications
As an Endoscopy Technician, you will be responsible for procedure room turnover and the care, handling and reprocessing of endoscopy procedural equipment and supplies.
You will recognize and communicate all abnormal findings and report findings to the nurse
You will assist with and perform skilled procedures as delegated by professional staff and physician
You will demonstrate proficiency in specialized department equipment, as well as in patient monitoring while also providing clear and concise reports or patient conditions and progress
You will show proficiency in sterile and aseptic technique, maintain a sterile field, and report breaks in aseptic technique
You will maintain a clean, well organized, and adequately stocked patient care area
You will maintain equipment and submit repair requests
You will operate the patient call system as well as answering and transferring phone calls and breaking down charts and forms
You will ensure the availability of instruments and equipment for the procedure prior to the start of the procedure
You will clean, disinfect and sterilize equipment and handle dirty linens
You will assist the medical staff with the management of scopes during procedures
