Citigroup SVP, Senior Lead Analyst, Balance Sheet Management in Getzville, New York

The Balance Sheet Management Sr. Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team lead with monitoring and management of CBNA and US Bank liquidity metrics to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory limits and internal triggers, providing regular and ad hoc updates on U.S. Bank liquidity to CBNA ALCO and FLRC.

  • Collaborate with Liquidity Management, Business Treasury and Controllers to gather and communicate intelligence on daily, weekly, and monthly information on US Bank liquidity drivers to other stakeholders including second line (2LOD) and senior management.

  • Combine inputs from various stakeholders and utilize, and maintain local tools to forecast relevant liquidity metrics for U.S. Bank under various scenarios throughout the year, including Operating Plan, CCAR, QMMF and Outlook

  • Collaborate with Treasury Capital Markets team and others to derive an appropriate debt issuance forecast across multiple scenarios to support liquidity targets, and coordinate with FP&A and others to ensure accurate submission of forecasted debt issuance, and liquidity metrics.

  • Produce an annual U.S. Bank Funding and Liquidity Plan (FLP) demonstrating that U.S. Bank remains appropriately funded throughout the year. Manage approve of the FLP by LM and 2LOC partners, prepare submissions to appropriate governance committees.

  • Provide analytical support to explain changes to liquidity drivers relative to Plan, Outlook, etc. in actual and forecast.

  • Play a lead role in the validation of monetization assumptions for U.S. Bank high quality liquid assets (HQLA) and monitor levels of HQLA and non-HQLA collateral

  • Work closely with Liquidity Management and Reporting to better understand changes to U.S. Bank liquidity reporting.

  • Work closely with Technology on various automation projects to streamline forecasting and analysis processes.

  • Collaborate with internal Treasury counterparties in Asia, Europe and LATAM to optimize liquidity within the firm.

  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of experience working for a financial service organization.

  • Experience with effectively analyzing Actual and Forecast results.

  • Working knowledge of Citigroup Financial Systems (PEARL / GLRS/ Etc.) preferred

  • Proficiency with standard analysis tools (Excel / Access / SQL)

  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of Balance Sheet and liquidity.

  • Familiarity with recent bank regulatory developments including LCR, NSFR, Basel capital requirements and Regulation W.

  • Excellent written and oral communication.

Education:

  • BA/BS in relevant analytical discipline

  • MBA with Finance concentration or equivalent preferred

Scope of Responsibilities

The CBNA Treasury Senior Lead Analyst will require a broad understanding of banking activities and the impact of those activities upon CBNA’s balance sheet. Particular emphasis will be placed upon liquidity management of US Bank, a component of CBNA.

Demonstrated analytical capabilities must highlight the candidate’s ability to diagnose issues and identify opportunities within a dynamic environment. The Analyst will have the opportunity to work with other areas of Treasury, Controllers, FP&A, Technology and FRSS.

$125,200.00 - $187,800.00
