WSP USA Principal / Associate Infrastructure Delivery Advisory Consultant in Glasgow, United Kingdom

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial, Procurement, and Delivery Advisory Consultant at a Principal/Associate level to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in providing expert advice and strategic solutions across procurement and contract strategies, strategic sourcing, organisational and delivery model design, procurement assurance and contract and delivery advisory.

The ideal candidate will be involved in different infrastructure projects related to water, energy, and transport. This role requires a professional with solid experience in infrastructure delivery, a comprehensive knowledge of programme management, procurement, supply chain management, contract management and a passion for offering strategic guidance to infrastructure clients from the public and private sectors.

  • Procurement and Contract Strategies: Develop and implement effective procurement and contract strategies to support project objectives, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Delivery model design: Advise on delivery model design and development on major infrastructure projects and programmes.

  • Value-Based Procurement: Implement value-based procurement practices to maximise value for money, incorporating sustainability and social value considerations into procurement decisions.

  • Procurement Assurance: Conduct procurement assurance activities to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards, identifying and mitigating risks in the procurement process.

  • Contract Advisory: Provide expert advice on contract management, negotiation, and administration, with a focus on NEC contracts, to manage risks and leverage opportunities.

  • Delivery Advisory: Advise on project delivery strategies for major infrastructure projects and programmes.

  • Sector Expertise: Apply deep sector-specific knowledge in water, energy, and transport to advise on best practices, innovations, and strategic approaches to infrastructure project and programme delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, procurement, business, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

  • Professional Qualifications: MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CEng (Chartered Engineer) status is highly desirable.

  • Experience: Significant experience in commercial, procurement, and delivery roles within the infrastructure sector, including hands-on experience with NEC contracts.

  • Sector Knowledge: Proven track record in the water, energy, and transport sectors, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within these industries.

  • Skills: Exceptional strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and drive procurement and delivery excellence.
