Description
We are offering a permanent employment opportunity in a CPA Firm based in Glen Allen, Virginia, United States. The role we are seeking is a Public Staff Tax Accountant, where you will be expected to use your skills in accounting and taxation to serve our clients.
Responsibilities:
• Review and prepare various types of income tax returns including C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Individual
• Use your tax research skills to communicate with clients and document client files
• Apply a strategic approach to business and tax consulting with a focus on minimizing tax and managing risk
• Analyze partnership operating agreements to determine the allocation of profits and losses
• Assist with merger and acquisition analysis and due diligence
• Review client trial balances for book/tax timing differences
• Evaluate the appropriateness of depreciation methods and lives used
• Assist in accounting method changes
• Review multi-state operations for state filing requirements
• Supervise and train fellow associates
• Assist in federal and state controversy work.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions
• Experience in Auditing
• Knowledge of Compliance procedures
• Experience with Entity Formation
• Ability to prepare Financial Statements
• Experience with Annual Tax and Annual Tax Provision
• Knowledge of Estate Tax and ability to prepare Estate Tax Return
• Familiarity with Federal Tax, Federal Income Tax, and Federal Tax Return procedures
• Understanding of Federal Taxes
• Experience in Income Tax Compliance
• Ability to handle Income Tax Audits
• Knowledge of Income Tax Accounting
• Ability to prepare Income Tax Return
• Experience in preparing Individual Tax Return
• Familiarity with IRS Tax procedures
• Understanding of Local Taxes and ability to handle Local Tax
