With this position, we are seeking an experienced, well-rounded software development engineer with Java backend and Spring experience to work on e-commerce focused data integration products. Candidates must be proactive, very organized, and have a strong desire to take technical leadership of a legacy product and drive its modernization. You should have a passion for creating clean, testable code, developing scalable software and automated tests, and actively participating in and facilitating Agile processes. RESPONSIBILITIES
Take a leadership role in analyzing legacy product for technical areas of improvement and modernization
Be a driving member of a self-empowered Scrum team producing software using Agile principles
Design, write and debug clean, tested, efficient code for a data integration product using Java, Spring and Akka
Profile and analyze performance related topics using tools such as JProfiler, JMeter or similar
Ensure full test coverage by writing and debugging automated tests (unit, integration, E2E)
Handle release related activities, including creating artifacts and deploying
Perform and participate in thorough peer code reviews
Actively contribute to design and quality discussions and follow standards decided upon by and with the team
Have the flexibility to adapt to new technologies and change directions quickly
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of experience with Java programming language writing multi-threaded, high-volume, transactional code
Experience using Spring (Boot, Integration, Data, MVC), RESTful Services, Git
Expert understanding of Maven dependency management
Experience with releasing software and automating CI processes using Jenkins
Hands on experience profiling applications, analyzing performance, and discovering and resolving potential performance pitfalls
Well versed in developing automated tests for each layer of the testing pyramid
Solid understanding and practice of Agile software development
Comfortable working in collaborative, fast-paced and highly dynamic work environment
Strong communication and analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of and experience with TDD and DDD
Familiarity with code quality and security tools such as Sonar, Fortify, Blackduck
Experience with enterprise application integration
Experience with Akka
Experience working with a containerized (e.g., Docker, etc.) Kubernetes orchestrated environment
Experience with database modeling and developing applications with relational databases
