S enior Graphic Designer, T.J.Maxx

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing innovative and strategically driven creative concepts and translating them into finished creative content to achieve marketing objectives and communicate the brand message in a uniquely fresh, memorable and persuasive way.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Develop breakthrough content and design consistent with the TJMaxx brand strategy and in accordance with brand guidelines that drives traffic and transactions in stores as well as communicates TJMaxx differentiated multi-channel brand strategy.

  • Work with team of ACD’s, designers and writers to maintain and evolve the brand expression in all printed creative content including seasonal and promotional in-store signage packages.

  • Execute specific creative requests received through creative briefings at a rapid pace to meet the heightened demands of a fast-growing, dynamic business.

    Creative Project Management ­

  • Collaborate across the Creative team as well as with brand, project management, production, and studio teams to effectively meet project objectives, budgets schedules, and deadlines.

  • Monitor all materials through all stages of pre-production, production, and post-production.

  • Effectively self-manage time, prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle a large scope of work.

    Creative Expertise

  • Demonstrate excellence in print and 3D design, including typography, color theory, imagery as well as knowledge of production and color reproduction.

  • Understand business needs and marketing requirements to devise compelling design solutions that elevate the customer shopping experience and drive transactions.

  • Ability to work “beyond the brief” to produce designs that are functional and memorable.

  • Ability to take direction, effectively present work, articulate design decisions to brand team, and respond positively to constructive feedback.

    Required Skills

  • Minimum 5-8 years of professional (excluding schoolwork) graphic design experience, preferably in an in-house or agency environment

  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent degree or professional work experience

  • Mastery of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; design proficiency in PowerPoint

  • Typographic excellence, a commitment to accuracy & organization, and strong written & verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail is an absolute must

  • Passion for fashion
