Engineering a world of possibilities Do you have experience in program
coordination and a passion for diversity and inclusion? The newly
established NSF Center for Engineering Equity at the Colorado School of Mines
has an opening for a full-time Program Coordinator.
This person will primarily support the Engineering Equity Center and its
Principal Investigators. The position will report directly to the Center
Director. The ideal candidate for this position will have a demonstrated
commitment to diversity and inclusion, excellent organizational skills and
administrative support experience, and have experience supporting students.
The ideal candidate will have experience that includes events planning,
budget management, contract management, accounting, computer skills,
and communication (website maintenance, etc.).
Job responsibilities and duties are subject to change throughout duration of
employment. Assignments may include tasks in the following areas:
Administrative Duties
Overall project management; creating and tracking timelines and
deliverables, budget management, hiring, subcontracts
Maintain up-to-date research project budget tracking and budget projections
Attend weekly administrative planning calls
Event planning and organization and management, including promotion,
registration (e.g. via Eventbrite), catering, and event implementation
(monthly/semester, as needed)
Website and Social Media updates (weekly)
Room scheduling (daily, as needed)
Calendar and meeting management for meetings (weekly)
Partner with the Office of Research Administration to submit monthly spending
reports to sponsors
Assist in student and postdoctoral fellow contract budgeting and submittals
Interface with the Office of Research Administration on post-award research
contract issues, including billing, journal entries, payroll
reallocations, cost-share reporting, etc.
Prepare expense reports for general purchasing on a monthly basis
Review procurement card reports and student timesheets
Review travel authorizations, and travel expense reports for
Initiative-associated students, and assist in travel report management for
Initiative-associated Faculty
Arrange travel for conferences, including group travel for large groups of
students and research personnel
Request purchase orders and serve as communications liaison between outside
contractors
Maintain subcontract accounts and billing
Participate in relevant project administrative calls, prepare and distribute
minutes for project meetings
Assist with preparation of required Project Reports
Routinely communicate with office staff around Mines campus, including CEE
Office, MAPS, ORA, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree
Administration experience related to supporting students, project and
program management and operational oversight.
Experience with developing, monitoring and managing budgets, resource
management, hiring, and financial reporting.
Evidence of teamwork experience, relationship building, and partnership
development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Project management
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to provide student services and support
Experience in business and management computer applications and databases.
Ability to keep abreast of general higher education trends, especially
related to DEIA.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with faculty,
staff and students on a variety of topics.
Ability to be sensitive to the needs and concerns of faculty, staff, and
students and other members of the University in a manner that is
professional, objective and easily understood.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hiring and contracts in higher education
Event planning experience
Social media and communications experience
Mentoring and/or support of students from di erse backgrounds
Knowledge of DEIA in STEM
Experience with Banner, Workday or other ERP (Enterprise Resource
Planning) system.
Annual Rate and Benefits
$60,000 - $65,000
