TECOLOTE RESEARCH, INC. Senior Contracts Administrator in Goleta, California

Overview Tecolotes Corporate Headquarters offers an opportunity for a senior-level career-focused individual in Contracts Administration. This position supports the Contracts Department by preparing proposals, negotiating contractual terms and conditions, coordination with other Corporate staff (e.g. Subcontracts and Accounting Teams), ensuring contractual obligations are met, responding to customer and senior leadership questions, and keeping various divisions informed about ongoing contracts. This position is for a seasoned professional seeking to leverage their expertise in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

*Responsibilities *

  • Proposal Development: prepare pricing, business and administrative volumes, work with Subcontracts Team, assist Pricing Team, coordinate final proposal preparation and submission, respond to Government questions, track awards/losses.
  • Contract Negotiation: Conduct negotiations with primes and Government using FAR/DFAR and other Agency clauses, Tecolote policies, Generally-Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and good business practices to establish and modify contracts.
  • Guidance and Risk Management: Provide advice to senior leadership on contractual rights and obligations; as well as ways to mitigate and manage risks (contractual, performance, financial).
  • Compliance: Ensure that an assigned portfolio of contracts are performed in accordance with terms and conditions and corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Pricing Analysis: Work with the Pricing Department to analyze proposal pricing opportunities and requests.
  • Nondisclosure Agreements (NDAs) for new business opportunities, Teaming Agreements (TAs), and Post-Award NDAs

Skills Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field.
  • At least 15+ years of contract negotiation, administration, and management experience.
  • Federal procurement laws and regulations (FAR, DFARS, GSAR, CFR).
  • US Government and Prime Contractor customers.
  • Various contract types (FFP, FP/LOE, CPFF/Completion and Term, CPAF, CPIF, and TandM).
  • NDAs and TAs are a Plus.
  • GSA schedules and agency IDIQ vehicles.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PDF tools, PowerPoint.
  • General understanding of maintaining accurate data within enterprise-wide IT systems.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Advanced negotiation skills and business case preparation.
  • Strong verbal, written, and quantitative communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and sound business judgment.
  • Experience with executive leadership interactions.
  • Excellent organizational and initiative skills.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
