Summary:
Responsible for the design, production and dissemination of Foundation,
Alumni and Career Services collateral print and web material. Collaborate with
Marketing and Communications Department to maintain the
university's brand guidelines and to request production of news stories,
videos, website, social media, and public relations activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may
be assigned.
Work in collaboration with Foundation, Alumni and Career Services staff
to implement successful marketing programs to increase the visibility,
presence and name recognition of the Foundation and
Alumni/Career Services.
Serve as the designer responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and
producing visual components for communication and marketing materials.
Integrate text and images into materials utilizing established principles of
effective graphic design in accordance with university standards.
Work closely with Marketing and Communications Department to execute
marketing materials including the Maverick Magazine.
Develop communication materials in multiple formats, including design
and production of materials to support fundraising, alumni relations,
donor development, and career services.
Contribute to weekly production meetings for new projects and on-going
project evaluation. Ensure proper distribution of materials both online and in
print. Solicit bids for print production and evaluate most cost-effective ways
to achieve communication goals.
Perform and participate in research to envision and propose new,
out-of-the-box communication tactics to support fundraising, alumni, and
career services goals.
Assist execution of social and digital media strategies with design,
development and maintenance.
Prepare shot lists for photography and assist with management of the
Foundation/Alumni and Career Services photography and publication archives.
Minimum Qualifications Requirement:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Expert knowledge/proficiency in: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop,
Illustrator, and Acrobat Professional (CS6 or later) on a Mac OS.
Knowledge of and competency in Microsoft Word and Power Point; familiarity
with Excel. Cross-platform (PC and Mac) and Content Management System
(CMS) experience preferred.
Manage projects within budget, prepare print specifications, review
press proofs, and press checks.
Experience in publications layout, editing, and writing.
Possess an understanding of electronic media; designing for web-based
and electronic media.
Conceptual thinker and clear communicator with strong project management
skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects at once and
demonstrated creativity in meeting design goals with limited resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of offset and digital printing technologies; be
proficient in preparing files for print.
Knowledge of and competency in Microsoft Word and Power Point;
familiarity with Excel. Cross-platform (PC and Mac) and Content Management
System (CMS) experience preferred.
Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and other social
media platforms
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and be comfortable
accepting feedback. This job requires the ability to design appropriate
material for numerous University clients while meeting tight budgets and
deadlines.
Salary: $44,000.00 - 46,000.00. Commensurate with education and
