Job Title: Manufacturing Technician C/ RF Technician

Job Schedule: 9/80; onsite

Job Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Job Description:

Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Essential Functions:

  • Technician is responsible testing, troubleshooting, and calibrating avionics electronics.

  • Technician needs to be able to read drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, schematics and/or test procedures Diagnose and analyze problems utilizing a variety of test equipment.

  • Provides input for process improvements and development of top-level test procedures.

  • Construct, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment we use to support RF testing/tuning.

  • Working knowledge of statistical process control as applied to related assembly, inspection and test processes.

  • Diagnose and analyze problems utilizing a variety of test equipment.

  • Utilize methodical and logical reasoning processes to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Develop subassembly test procedures as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • AA Degree in electronics or equivalent technical degree

  • IPC A610 or JST 001

  • Good hand-eye coordination for work under a microscope.

  • Experience with environmental testing and monitoring of product

  • Working knowledge of statistical process control as applied to related assembly, inspection, and test processes

  • Working knowledge of electronic Theory relating to RF transmission, receivers’ circuits, analog and digital circuitry.

  • The ability to troubleshoot RF/Digital circuits to the component level.

  • Must have working knowledge of electronic test equipment.

  • Advanced experience with Test equipment, i.e., signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and RF equipment

  • Advanced ability to read and understand schematic diagrams to solve complex technical problems, analyze faulty circuits

  • Ability to maintain electronic technician product failure database.
