Robert Half International Payroll Administrator in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Administrator who can process payroll and is proficient with Microsoft Office applications to fill a role with a company in the Machinery Manufacturing field. The Payroll Administrator opportunity will be located in Greensboro, North Carolina as a long-term contract / temporary to hire role.

Your responsibilities

  • Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities

  • Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

  • Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads

  • Supporting all internal and external audits related to payroll

  • Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential

  • Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

  • Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

  • Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis

  • Offer proper review and verification of source documents

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data

  • Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll Requirements - Understanding of internal controls

  • Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional

  • General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred

  • Prior experience working with collections/accounting software

  • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

  • Full Cycle Payroll experience

  • ADP Online experience required

  • Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll

  • Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

  • Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
