Summary:
We are looking for an individual who enjoys solving hard quant problems, has solid mathematical and statistical knowledge as well as good coding skills, and eager the learn from experienced data scientists. The position requires a naturally curious and creative mind.
The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to learn from a seasoned data scientist team with a long track record of publishing highly cited original research in prominent mathematical and statistical journals. Our friendly and collaborative environment provides a perfect opportunity for rapid professional growth in data science.
This position is an 100% IN-OFFICE position at our Greenville, SC office.
What You Bring:
Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Proficiency in R and solid knowledge in Python or other coding languages such as Java/C#/C++ /Scala.
Solid knowledge in mathematics and statistical methods, with coursework or experience in fields of mathematics, such as probability, mathematical statistics, applied mathematics, data science, algorithms, advanced calculus and linear algebra.
At least 2 years of experience with model building.
Good analytic and creative problem-solving skills.
Good algorithmic thinking, ability to design and implement complex processes.
Eagerness to learn from experienced data scientists and a growth mindset focused on continuous improvement and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn cloud environment (preferably Microsoft Azure), Big Data technology, new cutting-edge data science techniques/technologies (H2O, Azure Databricks) etc.
Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
Experience with SQL is a plus.
