The Civil/Structural Engineer will design, develop, and manage various
power systems infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission
lines, and distribution systems. We're constantly searching for talented

CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions
engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical
utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our
sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power
system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative,
government, industrial, and commercial customers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide engineering support for civil and structural designs for power systems
infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and
distribution systems.
Support senior engineering staff to develop detailed project drawings,
details, and specifications.
Develop project requirements and technical specifications, review design and
construction plans, and provide recommendations to improve project
feasibility, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
Perform conceptual and detailed calculations to support the engineering
drawings, details, and specifications. Calculations may include
drainage, concrete foundations, and steel superstructure.
Coordinate with other departments, project teams, and senior engineering
staff on project deliverables and action items.
Support senior engineering staff by ensuring tasks and deliverables are
completed in a timely manner.
Perform site visits to gather data for projects, execute inspections, and
perform quality control checks.

Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural
Engineering from an accredited university.
0-2 years of civil or structural engineering work experience.
Familiar with codes for concrete and steel design, as well as basic
structural analysis.
Ability to read and interpret topography on engineering and survey documents.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completion preferred.
Technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software
preferred.
Ability to multi-task to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with
stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Travel:
Travel between job sites expected with 20-30% overnight travel expected.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
You must be a US citizen.
Ability to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance is required for this
position.
Valid driver's license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
Benefits & Compensation:
We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance,
dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid
time off and paid holidays.
Salary range: $60,000-$70,000 based on experience plus eligible for
participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
