Electrical Engineer II
Location: Greenwood Village, CO
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking talented Electrical Engineers with power
systems background and 2-5 years' experience to join our engineering group.
CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more
than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership,
upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City
Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services
to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial,
and commercial customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in designing sub-transmission systems, substations, switching
stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution system.
Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis,
and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for
substations and distribution systems.
Create, update, and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical
distribution systems
Perform site surveys for new utility service requests, develop concept
design alternatives and present the alternatives to CLPE management and the
customer.
Assist Lead Engineers with major capital upgrade projects.
Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading
scenarios and assist with implementing corrective actions.
Gain and maintain intermediate knowledge of power system protection and
relaying schemes for electrical distribution system.
Create system model for large-scale power system in ETAP (or similar
software) and perform various power system analysis/studies.
Schedule and attend field walk-downs with our Customers to understand and
determine project requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:
BS degree, Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university. Power
systems emphasis preferred.
Familiar with power system analysis, distribution system modeling, and
protective device coordination
Two-five (2-5) years' related engineering work experience
Experience with medium voltage electrical substations and distribution systems
Experience with ETAP or similar software.
Must be a Team Player with excellent oral and written communication skills
Travel:
Up to 20% to client sites and overnight travel may be expected.
Other Requirements:
You must be a U.S. citizen.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to travel out of state to project sites.
You will be required to obtain Military Base Security Access Clearance.

Salary range: $76,000-$109,000/annual based on experience plus
eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan
