What You Will Be Doing:
As an Industrial Electrician Helper at Yancey, you will gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working alongside seasoned professionals. This role is essential in supporting our mission to provide safe and reliable electrical services while developing your skills for a successful career in the industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist licensed and certified electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on job sites.
Support the team in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing solutions.
Learn about high and low voltage systems and their applications under supervision.
Follow safety protocols and adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
Participate in training sessions to enhance your technical knowledge and skills.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner.
Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position you should have proven experience as an electrician and hold a valid state electrician's license. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an electrical trade program preferred.
1+ year of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
Bending conduit/EMT.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment used in the trade.
Strong willingness to learn from experienced electricians and follow instructions diligently.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Physical stamina to handle the demands of construction site work.
