Job Description:

Job Title: Supply Chain Analyst

Department: Information Technology

FLSA: Exempt

General Function:

A Supply Chain Analyst works with operational and technical stakeholders to leverage third-party applications and platforms to design, create, test, implement and support technical solutions that help Hy-Vee achieve long-term business initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem-solving skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.

Accountable and Reports to: Director, IT Supply Chain

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Designs, creates, modifies, and tests solutions to enable optimal operation of new and existing supply chain applications. Applications include but are not limited to warehouse management systems, warehouse automation systems, transportation management systems, enterprise retail planning systems and SQL based analytics/reporting platforms. Performs cost-benefit analysis to evaluate new technologies and works with necessary stakeholders to define implementation plan including integration into existing supply chain systems. Organizes, documents, and creates technical design specifications for changes to internal and external applications. Analyzes and studies labor standards and incentive programs to make recommendations for enhancements. Collaborates with operational teams to evaluate opportunities for process changes and uses existing data sources to clearly define expected benefits. Champions company standards and best practices. Work to continuously improve software delivery processes and practices. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Works the required number of hours.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Attends and participates in industry and company meetings, including meetings for Analysts, Task Review, Team, Departmental, and Manager. Participates in off-hours on-call rotation. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience:

Degree or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience required. Preferred qualifications for candidates include:

  • SQL

  • Power BI

  • Manhattan WMS experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

  • Must be able to work in warehouse conditions, including refrigerated and frozen areas.

  • Must have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

  • Must possess the ability to compose original correspondence, follow technical manuals, evaluate technical data and counsel or advise people.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a general office setting where there is weekly pressure to meet deadlines.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Mainframe and/or Windows computer software and application development tools. PC, telephone and calculator.

Financial Responsibility:

Responsible for company assets including the purchase and maintenance of third party applications.

Confidentiality:

Has access to confidential information including payroll, sales, trust fund, inventory and profit.
