Under the direction of the Assistant County Engineer or the Superintendent, the employee operates various types of heavy equipment in the completion of various projects for the Engineering and Road Maintenance Department. Employee operates a motor grader and other heavy equipment to perform the most difficult finishing and grading operations for road and special projects. Employee is also responsible for maintaining equipment and performing manual labor as needed. This position CAN NOT be applied for online.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma, or equivalent
Possess at least five years experience as a heavy equipment operator
Possession of a current and valid Alabama Driver's License: CDL required
Ability to work overtime and weekends in emergencies
Ability to travel out of area to pick up materials
