Under the general direction of the Superintendent of County Buildings/Maintenance Supervisor, the employee provides assistance to the Superintendent of County Buildings/Maintenance Supervisor to a full range of maintenance services within the Courthouse and other County buildings. This employee assists with assessing work needed and assists in plans to have maintenance and repairs completed. Assists in performing maintenance to equipment. Assists with storage and set-up of voting machines and other various election equipment. Performs other duties as assigned and necessary.
Maintenance: Assists in receiving and processing work requests and needs Makes work assignments to complete work orders Verifies completion and accuracy of work performed Assists in changing filters from heating and cooling system Verifies accurate temperature control of facilities. Climbs ladders to check on reports of leaks or damage to the roof Assists in replacing ballast and light bulbs Assists in receiving and responding to calls regarding potential flooding of buildings Uses hand tools to service and maintain equipment such as boilers and water coolers Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems and malfunctions; contacts service provider if necessary Assists in checking the functioning of County sewer systems and pump operations Assists in providing elevator servicing Moves and relocates furniture Assembles furniture Drives between all County facilities as needed Assists in replacing fuses
*Janitorial Work: * Assists in stripping and waxing floors in all County facilities Uses push and riding mowers to mow grass Uses weed eater and rake to clear leaves Places sprinklers; water grass and plans Rids County property of nuisance snakes, insects, etc.
*Election Support: * Assists in receiving voting envelopes and materials for each polling location Matches materials with each designated voting machine Cleans voting machines Assists with removing voting machines from storage Assists with loading voting machines to transport to polling locations throughout the County Drives vehicles and delivers machines Delivers and plugs in machine designated to meet the needs of handicapped citizens Verifies occupancy of building and correct location; checks for correct climate control Assists in picking up and delivering tables and chairs Assists in disassembling and loading machines at ech polling locations following the election Cleans and covers voting machines following elections Performs other duties as necessary
