Objectives:
The position is embedded in the technology team of the petrochemicals division in Asia. It supports and leads topics related to Quality Management and Product Stewardship for all Petrochemicals products in Greater China. This comprises, amongst others, managing the interface with global Petrochemical Business Unit (CP) quality and product stewardship organizations, business, and operations as well as assessing the effective implementation of tank safety concept internally and at external locations.
Job Responsibilities:
Support of business management and technology as regional focal point for Quality and Product Stewardship in Greater China
Represent A-CPA as local advocacy contact for Petrochemical Business Unit (CP) Products in Greater China Region, advise on applicable local and national standards, regulatory updates and implementation.
Support the BIG organization and business management on queries regarding product quality and stewardship, internal audits and certification.
Coordinate distribution and filing of product descriptions for new products (new BI) or change management for available products (change of BI) with production / marketing.
Align and coordinate for the improvement activities across the Greater China region and ensure overall consistency (together with Petrochemical Business Unit (CP) global quality community). Coordinate all quality related topics with sales & marketing, operations and regional management.
Provide customer support regarding product and contribute to quality agreements / specification agreements with customers in alignment with global specification.
Support local operations and business on package material compatibility.
Support recall management at A-CPA Greater China in training and drills, and implementation of Petrochemical Business Unit (CP) Recall Management process from the region
Implementation of BASF and Petrochemical Business Unit (CP) Requirements and standards (EHSQ Management System CP) into local documentation and operation.
Compile and Analyze the Quality Management KPI reports Greater China sites and identify gaps and improvement needs.
Coordinate Quarterly Quality Management meeting with Greater China operations, Petrochemical Business Unit (CP) Quality Management communities in APAC.
Support Non-conformance management investigations and risk assessments from business management.
Auditing support of BASF safety concept for storage facilities on-site internally, at JV's, and at 3rd parties (requires occasional regional traveling)
Job Requirements:
• Education Background: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent
• At least 6 years relevant working experience in Quality Management, Product Stewardship, Product Safety, and/or R&D
Technical & Professional Knowledge:
• Good communication (English and Chinese) and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of toxicology, ecotoxicology, analytics of chemicals, and chemical regulations (e.g. GB Standard, K-REACH, REACH, Taiwan-REACH, etc.)
• Prior knowledge of good engineering design practice of installations and equipment for product storage and handling as well as procedures for product handling.
• Extensive knowledge of Quality Management (e.g. auditor qualification of ISO 9001) and Quality tools such as FMEA, risk assessment
